Canadian Landscape Artist • New Work Previews • Studio Insights • Painting Process
YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING WHY THIS EXISTS . . .
Some may ask why a Canadian painter would launch a newsletter in a world already filled with exhibitions, curated social feeds, and polished art blogs.
But those platforms rarely offer a true connection to the source—the studio. The space where brush meets canvas, where shifting light stirs a mood, and where each painting begins to take shape.
This publication isn’t just about selling. It’s about offering something quieter, more personal: the story behind the work. The reflections, sketches, and daily discipline that guide each piece from idea to finished form—and sometimes into embassies, hospitals, galleries, and private collections.

Thank you for your support—it has been integral to my journey as an artist and to taking this leap in a vast and evolving world.
WHO? Jeff Dillon—Canadian fine artist based in Waterloo, Ontario. My work is rooted in a lifelong connection to the land, shaped by childhood in BC, Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario. I paint almost every day. My style blends realism with bold colour and movement, drawing influence from Lawren Harris and Vincent van Gogh. I’ve spent the past 20 years building a full-time studio practice, and my work now hangs in private collections, Canadian embassies, hospitals, and galleries across Canada and beyond.
WHAT? A few emails per month that take you inside the work. I’ll share new paintings, how they came together, thoughts on technique, and the natural rhythms that inspire it all—wind, water, light, stillness, memory. If you’re a collector, curator, designer, or just someone who finds peace in nature and wants to understand how that becomes art—you’ll find something here worth following.
WHEN? Every few weeks—only when there’s something genuine to share. You’ll hear from me when there’s meaningful progress in the studio, a new painting, or a story worth telling.
WHY? Because painting is the centre of my life, and this space lets me share that journey directly. It’s not just about the final piece—it’s about the process, the moments behind the canvas, and the quiet persistence it takes to create something that truly connects.
